UniSC’s flagship campus is at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast, with additional campuses in Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast), Gympie, Caboolture, and Petrie (Moreton Bay), plus a new campus in Adelaide opened in 2024. The Sippy Downs campus, set on a 100-hectare wildlife reserve bordering Mooloolah River National Park, is renowned for its environmentally sustainable design, earning awards like the 2000 Royal Australian Institute of Architects President’s Award. UniSC’s academic programs span business and creative industries, education, health, law and society, and science, technology, and engineering, with notable strengths in nursing, environmental science, and cybersecurity. Its research, rated world-class in 26 fields, focuses on climate action, mental health, and indigenous policy, with unique positioning as the only university operating within three UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and a UNESCO World Heritage Site (K’gari). The university’s close ties to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) enhance health-related programs.
